Mount Pleasant Primary School is a moderately sized government school situated in an established urban area approximately 3 kilometres south east of the original Ballarat Post Office.

Mount Pleasant  is an older suburb of Ballarat. Younger families wishing to live close to the city centre seek many of the original period homes. The school also serves a number of residential housing developments -  both private and public sectors.
