Student Assessment & Reporting

Assessment Program

To ensure that the progress of all students is carefully monitored and that all students make the appropriate educational progression, the school has developed and implements a school wide assessment program in English and Mathematics.

The program necessitates that specified assessments be undertaken on the performance of students at pre-determined intervals throughout the year, and that individual student results be analysed and interpreted relative to that child’s previous performance on similar tasks.

 Reporting Program

Written reports on pupil progress are provided to parents at the end of Term 2 and Term 4 each year.

Reports are provided in each domain at the relevant Victorian Essential Learning Standard (VELS). The reports give an assessment of each child’s attainment and also indicate the expected level of attainment for a child at their particular year level.

Parent-teacher interviews are held at the commencement of Term 1 to enable information sharing between the child's parent/s and the child's class teacher. Parent-teacher interviews are also held at the commencement of Term 3 to review children’s progress and to set goals for the second half of the year.

In addition the school encourages parents to contact the school at any time should there be a question or concern about any aspect of their child’s education.
